Virginia K. Richards is a lawyer at Henderson Heinrichs LLP. Virginia is an experienced family law lawyer, with a particular focus on resolving the legal disputes that arise when spouses separate.

Virginia understands that family law cases are personal, complicated, and require a tailored approach.

She strives to resolve every client’s legal matter in a way that achieves the client’s desired outcome in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Virginia has practiced family law for over fourteen years, and she represents clients in a wide range of family cases, many of which involve complicated parenting issues, criminal matters, tax implications, and corporate law. She has appeared in all levels of court in British Columbia and the majority of her practice is focused on litigation. Her clients appreciate her zealous advocacy both in and outside the courtroom, her adaptability and agility in responding to rapidly evolving situations, along with her ability to anticipate potential issues and provide clear strategic advice. Where appropriate, Virginia guides her clients through alternative dispute resolution processes, such as mediation or arbitration. Virginia recognizes that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution, and she works closely with each client to understand their unique circumstances so that together they can formulate a plan to achieve the client’s goals.

Virginia was born and raised in North Vancouver, and attended the University of British Columbia for both her undergraduate and law degrees. Having been called to the bar in 2010, she started her career in the Fraser Valley and has practiced in downtown Vancouver since 2012.
