After completing his articles with Henderson Heinrichs LLP, Arwant joined the team as an associate in May 2022 focusing on immigration law and family law. Prior to joining our firm, Arwant worked as a summer student at a prominent boutique immigration and family law firm in Surrey, BC.

Whether it comes to addressing family or immigration law matters, Arwant is able to put himself in the shoes of his client and provide advice that is both appropriate and practical. His immigration practice involves mapping out the most effective way to obtaining permanent residency in Canada, visitor visas, work permits (within Canada and abroad), spousal applications (within Canada and abroad), citizenship applications, detention reviews, Humanitarian and Compassionate applications along with attendance at the Federal Court of Canada for judicial reviews. His family law practice involves everything from drafting a cohabitation agreement to assisting clients with contested and uncontested divorce applications at both the Provincial and Supreme Court of British Columbia.

He attained his undergraduate education in Political Science at the University of British Columbia, where he was also the president of the UBC Sikh Students’ Association. He then attended law school at Thompson Rivers University, where he helped start the TRU Criminal Law Club and led the South Asian Law Students’ Association as co-president. Arwant was also elected as the Chair of Second Year Law Students, and then re-elected as Chair of Third Year Law Students by his classmates, allowing him to serve as a voting member on the TRU Law Faculty Council. In addition, Arwant has done pro-bono work with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program.

Arwant is also an instrumentalist who plays a wide variety of Indian stringed instruments, including the Sarangi. In addition to performing throughout Canada, he has appeared as a guest anthem performer at a Vancouver Canucks game and at Canadian Citizenship Ceremonies organized by the Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada. Arwant also enjoys working out, taking on scenic hikes and spending time with his family and friends.

He is fluent in Punjabi and Hindi and conversant in Urdu.
