Nathanael is passionate about understanding and telling your story. He knows that persuasive and respectful communication can often make the difference between costly litigation and a negotiated settlement, and he encourages and facilitates alternative dispute resolution whenever appropriate. Nathanael is also a trial lawyer and represents his clients at every level of court in British Columbia, and he will litigate for you effectively when necessary.
Nathanael advises clients on all family law issues. His expertise includes property division within British Columbia’s evolving excluded property law regime, spousal support negotiations and complex parenting arrangements. Where there are children of the marriage he is always mindful that the heart of every solution in family law puts the interests of those children first.
Nathanael completed his undergraduate degree in political science at the University of Victoria, BC and studied law at BPP University Law School in London, England. He received his Master of Laws from the University of Edinburgh. Nathanael was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2016 and joined Henderson Heinrichs LLP in 2018, where he thoroughly enjoys his legal practice within the uniquely collaborative culture of one of Vancouver’s leading family law firms.
Nathanael and his wife care deeply about their city and support causes including the Canucks Foundation, and the Coastal Eden Café, a social enterprise which aims to better the Vancouver Downtown Eastside by creating jobs for individuals who might otherwise be excluded from the workplace. When not in the office, he and his young family enjoy exploring BC`s coastlines and mountains.
